Debrin an Random AnimeFest 2010

Sometimes in life you find yourself with an opportunity to expand your horizons. Starting out small can be tough. Every day is an uphill battle to be seen and heard. This Labor Day weekend we were presented with an opportunity to be seen and heard and I promise you, friends and fans, we did not miss it.

AnimeFest in Dallas, Texas put on a fantastic event over the Labor Day weekend and we were there for every moment of it. Our humble stand was on the lower floors, just outside of the Dealers’ Room, which is prime real estate. The location was great because everyone went to the Dealer’s Room and that meant everyone had to pass our stand, both going in and coming out.

The Children’s Book of Necromancy drew loads of attention and people dropped by to see what it was all about. By day three the word had spread and the fans were gathering to see what was new and unique in Dallas. After all, that is why we go to these conventions, for the unique, the new, the nostalgic; it’s all there for us to see and touch, and experience firsthand real and in person. We wound up doing very well, moving more than three quarters of our stuff and getting our name and our product out there in the public eye. Of course free swag and giveaways never hurt. 7 lucky fans won copies of A Children’s Book of Necromancy and J. Marshall Pitman is now the proud owner of a one of a kind skateboard deck courtesy of Open Heart Publishing. Whether he grip tapes it and takes it out thrashing, or displays it proudly amongst his other collections he will be able to say, “I was there at the beginning.” And Friends and Fans, so were we.

We hope to see you all at our next event. For now check out some of what you missed.
